Hello! My name is Grayce Conley and I am a current sophomore at Drake University. A little bit about me, I’m from Cedar Rapids and I went to George Washington High School.
I played golf all four years of high school and was captain of the team my senior year. My best round ever was a 78 during a district meet where I ties for 7th place among 11 schools. That was pretty cool.
I am majoring in PR with a marketing minor and I recently applied to Lindenwood University for their graduate program.
I currently work at a coffee shop in Clive called Freidrich’s and I have been a barista there since last September. Its very boring but I’m able to do my homework there so I can’t complain too much.
At home I work at an outdoors store called Soko Outfitters where I help plan events focused around spending time outside. Some of these events were paddle board yoga, llama yoga, a series called ‘Trails to Cocktails’ where we would do trail runs and enjoy drinks after.
I am currently lined up to intern this summer in Cedar Rapids for Hadley Media. Hadley Shriver is the daughter of Steve Shriver, who happens to be one of the owners of Soko.
Hadley does marketing and social media for numerous small businesses around Cedar Rapids as well as a few companies across the US.
I just recently completed the March social media calendar for a brand called MioTetto. MioTetto is a company that produces eco friendly and sustainable play mats for children and pets. They also produce a custom chalkboard wallpaper.
I am interested in pursuing a graduate degree, specifically my MBA with a marketing focus at Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Missouri upon my graduation from Drake. I know I want to end up somewhere in the St. Louis community but I’m not sure exactly. Lindenwood is known for connections in the St. Louis area and that was one of the reasons it is a top pick for me.
However depending on a lot of factors, including how much time I have to change my decision, I will attend the University of Iowa as a fallback. I could live at home rent free, hopefully, as well as maintain a job while in school in Iowa City. Plus I love Iowa City, I just grew up too close to make my undergrad enjoyable there.
Thanks for taking the time to read all about me! Here is a link to my resume in case anyone is looking!
